I am a member
of the American Pastel Society (2).
My artwork was selected for presentation at
artsy online, which is the world`s  largest online art market place. My first group exhibition was in 2018:
Exposition internationale d’art contemporain “Portrait” at the swiss art space gallery in Lausanne (3); Furthermore I participated at the group exhibition “Metamorphosis” at Karouzou Gallery in Zurich in 2019.
Since that time my artwork was accepted multiple times until present for participation at various exhibitions, most recently at “Portrait 2022”.
In 2018 I accepted the offer by Sarto Weber to illustrate the beautiful lyrics of Anna Greta Wide, a Swedish writer. This book entitled “Broar-Brücken”, (“Bridges”), is available at the parish of St. Peter&Paul in Zurich (4).
I participated at several artbox projects in 2022: my artwork was accepted for digital presentation at the Biennale Art Expo, Tana Art space in Venice, Italy in May 2022, as well as at Thompson gallery in Zug and Urbanside gallery in Zurich, Switzerland.

Throughout my life I am doing sketches and paintings. I prefer figurative art, to create images from real objects e.g., objects from nature, being outdoors, portrait painting, or just to use my imagination or inspiration. I also create paintings to translate my Christian faith into visual images. I do not have the intention to compete with photographic precision. Instead, I want to catch the essential characteristics of my objects expressing “fullness of life” visually. I love to touch the observer’s heart looking at it.

I often use pastel, pencil, sometimes acryl; I also like digital drawing. Concerning pastel techniques, I use finest quality of colors&material; first, I prepare a wet underpainting using a primer, adding one or various pigments. When creating a draft, I start with hard pastels, then proceed with soft pastels. In the center of focus I apply multiple layers to achieve brilliance of color effects. Finally, I apply pastel fixatives. Because of the powdery composition of pastel, the painting should be placed behind glass, (plexi/acrylglass never be used), a safety wooden stick needs always be placed in between glass and artwork.

I am so grateful Renate Friedländer was my teacher in arts (5). She and her family escaped from the Nazi Holocaust. Later, she returned to Germany. Finally, she settled in Cologne, where I joined her art lessons at the Wallraf-Richartz Museum workshops for years.
